Project LEARN’s 2024 Impact Report
To Our Community,
At Project LEARN, we believe that education is the key to a brighter future. Last year, we saw incredible stories of resilience, growth, and student success across our nearly dozen programs.
We’re filled with gratitude for the incredible strides you’ve allowed Project LEARN to make towards our mission of empowering Lowell’s young people. Last year, your support allowed us to deepen our commitment to career-connected learning, providing hundreds of students with hands-on experiences, mentorship, and equitable access to opportunities that will help shape their futures.
In just one year, you enabled Project LEARN to:
Connect nearly 100 students & recent graduates to paid internships across our industry partners in high-demand fields like tech & IT security, community advocacy, and education;
Pilot HMS MEDScience Pathmaker, a new dynamic program with Harvard MEDScience that has enabled 25 local young-adults to build lab skills and prepare for a career in the life sciences;
Expand collaborations with partners like UML’s Rist DifferenceMaker, AT&T, and Early College Lowell, allowing us to provide students equitable access to career-connected learning;
Partner with Lowell High School to host our 5th annual Career Speaker Week which connected 1,250 students to nearly 80 local professionals; and
Install 5 new ArtUp Lowell projects in 3 neighborhoods, including 2 murals by local students and a large-scale piece on the Stoklosa Middle School;
Beyond these numbers, the heart of our work lies in the students who discover new passions, educators who feel more supported, and community partners who see the transformative impact of their investment. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together and energized by the momentum we’re building for the future.
None of this would be possible without you—our dedicated donors, partners, and community advocates. Your generosity fuels innovation, sustains critical programs, and ensures that every young person in Lowell, regardless of background, has the opportunity to succeed.
As we look ahead, we invite you to continue this journey with us. Together, we’re not just preparing students for the future; we’re creating a stronger, more equitable Lowell.
With Deep Gratitude,
LZ Nunn, Executive Director Matthew Coggins, Board Chairman
