2022 Annual Appeal

Kenneth is a first-generation student whose parents left Cambodia for better opportunities. During a LHS afterschool IT program, Kenneth was introduced to Project LEARN's new pilot: a Google Coursera+ computer science training and certification course.

Now, as the co-founder of TPI, Kenneth uses his leadership skills and shares his programming/IT knowledge with dozens of students from different backgrounds. These enriching experiences inspired Kenneth to apply to MIT where he hopes to study computer science.

What does it cost to deliver hands-on programming like this? The cost per student for the Google Coursera+ program is $500. Your investment will allow us to expand our delivery of FREE certificate training in IT Support, Data Analytics, and Project Management to 60+ students in 2023.

Kenneth is 1 of 450 Lowell Public School students who gained new skills this year through Project LEARN programs. Here’s just a snapshot of our other 2022 accomplishments:

Expanded our Commencement 2 Careers paid summer internship program -- placing nearly 200 LHS students and recent graduates in paid pre-professional internships across 36 local partners, like Waterways Vitality, Lowell Litter Krewe, Craic Sauce, The Merrimack Company, Rise Social Relations Firm, UMass Lowell, and so many others.
